Spiro Lucis
Designed for large scale holographic projection, Spiro Lucis (Breath of Light) is an experimental short film made with crystal and light.
It was inspired by the physical phenomenon called Redshift. The flame and abstract shapes that appear and dissolve in the dark are reflections and refractions of light on crystals.
The movement, whether of light or of the object, creates a continuous change of perspective and generates glows, phosphenes and - in some cases - recognizable or pareidolic shapes.
This artisanal technique has been developed over the years by the Julia Set laboratory and has been perfected with high resolution (8K) shooting and high dynamic range.
The original soundtrack was created by Mishikatomo as an enigmatic melodic composition from pads of analog synths and modular generative rhythms, a surreal environment that becomes immersive with spatialized audio.
